UPPERMOST shares latest single ‘23rd street’!

Acclaimed electronic producer Uppermost has released his latest single ‘23rd Street’ on 12 July via his own imprint Uppwind Records.

LISTEN/SHARE: Uppermost – ‘23rd Street’

Uppermost needs no introduction – with over a decade of releases in his wake he has seen support from tastemaker Youtube channels such as Mr Suicide Sheep – with over 50 million views and counting,  and released official remixes for the likes of Dada Life and Lemaitre. Publications such as BILLBOARD, VICE, COMPLEX, Your EDM, Clash Mag, Paper Mag, Earmilk and Magnetic Mag have favourably received his work and he has releases on prominent labels Sony BMG and Ministry Of Sound. His own label, Uppwind Records has championed releases for French-touch and nu-disco visionaries such as Digitalism and Satin Jackets. He has featured on the Beatport electro-house chart and the JunoDownload electro-house chart.

Uppermost draws inspiration from acts such as Daft Punk, Burial, Bonobo, John Hopkins, Apparat and Deadmau5. He has combined eras, influences and genres to create a sound familiar, yet uniquely his own, paying homage to these sonic visionaries rather than emulating them. His sound draws parallels to elements of Yuksek, Burial, Breakbot, or the deep emotional bass beats of Kavinsky and Klimeks and his impeccable influences are combined to create something new and exhilarating.

Uppermost gives some insight into the track: “I think there’s something about old-school hip-hop vibes that’s highly inspiring. Like a vintage, handcrafted, urban feeling.  In this track, I tried to convey different emotions that bring me on a creative journey such as nostalgia, hopes and lost memories.”

Lacuna Coil have announced that their new albu…

Lacuna Coil have announced that their new album will be released on October 11th via Century Media Records and will be titled Black Anima!

“Black Anima is all of us.
It’s you and it’s me, it’s everything we hide and fiercely expose to a world that’s halfway asleep.
It is the fogged mirror we are peering into searching for the truth.
It’s sacrifice and pain, it’s justice and fear, it’s fury and revenge, it’s past and future….
Human beings in the magnificence of a disturbing ambiguity.
The black core that balances it all… as without darkness light would never exist.
We proudly present to you our new work and can’t wait to welcome you in our embrace.
We are the Anima.” – Cristina Scabbia, LACUNA COIL.

Review: COMMUNITY LONDON 2019 by Nelly Loriaux

Following the success of the past 2 years, Community Festival returned on Sunday 30th June for another showcase of this year hottest Indie, Rock and Alternative music talents.

Set across 2 stages in the beautiful grounds of Finsbury Park, the festival goers ( estimated at around 35000 ) got treated to a mix of upcoming as well as established performers, under the cosmic patronage of Apollo, Ra ,Surya and Sunna ( depending which deity takes your fancy ).

I could talk you through what went on but decided to gather a few short clips of the day extravaganza instead, a far more enjoyable way for you to discover or relive that wondrous event. In the words of Lou Reed, it was ‘Just a perfect day’.
